On today's episode I share a story of something that really impacted my life - experiencing an 8.0 magnitude earthquake while living in China in 2008. Being there near the epicenter of this earthquake at that time and in the days that followed really shifted my thoughts about life. Suddenly I was in scenarios that I had absolutely no control over and that had the potential to take my life. I learned so much during that time about the importance of my faith being my sure foundation, because literally everything in else in this world could be shaken or removed from under me. I think this is something we can all relate to, because all of us will experience or have experienced situations that blindside us and are completely out of our control. What do we do in those moments in order to stay steady? That's what I get into during these 15 minutes of this podcast episode.

At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, “Yet once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.” 27 This phrase, “Yet once more,” indicates the removal of things that are shaken—that is, things that have been made—in order that the things that cannot be shaken may remain. 28 Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, 29 for our God is a consuming fire.
