Do You Remember Who You Really Are?

“Gabi, you do not belong in that space.”

“Gabi, who do you think you are? Stop going for things that are too big for you.”
“Gabi, you need to stop talking.”
“Gabi, your feelings are too big. There’s something wrong with you.”
“Gabi, know your place. Go away.”

Have you ever gotten messages like this? Have those messages been internalized to the point that it starts being your own voice saying them?

I started having these things said to me as a child and my identity became smallness. But it didn’t match up to the bigness I felt inside of me - the big love, the big compassion, the big drive to do something to help people and change the world, the big thirst to experience big things.

So I thought the largeness of dreams inside of me was wrong. And I kept ending up in relationships and situations where that belief of wrong-ness was validated over and over again. Because it’s what I knew, so it’s what drew me in.

But God…

His whispers were always awake in me. He never stopped pursuing my healing, even when I didn’t realize I needed to heal. He created something inside of me, and when I tell you He has allowed me to experience things, walk through things, and shed some things so that the lies would fall off…I mean it.

The beautiful essence of who you genuinely are and the unique purpose that has always lived inside of you is not something God is going to forget.

Do you need help remembering that you matter? That the way you’re made is beautiful? That your purpose is worth pursuing? That your dreams are imperative?

Friend - choose truth. Get in the Word. Surround yourself with people who truly see you. Believe again in those things that you’ve buried deep down. Walk away from toxicity.

I know it’s hard. But you’re not alone, okay? I see you. I love you. And I’m committed to creating safe spaces for you to heal and grow and dream again. Because it matters. You matter.
